Yes, contact us at [email protected] with your booking reference. Changes to dates, times or vehicle type depend on availability and may affect the total amount. We recommend making changes as early as possible to secure the best options.
Provide your full name as it appears on your driving licence, email address, phone number, flight details if collecting from BUD, and a valid payment card for the booking advance. Additional driver details can be added during pickup.
When you book, we collect a booking advance online by card. This secures your reservation and covers part of the total amount. The remaining balance is paid when you collect the vehicle, using the payment method specified in your voucher and on the booking page for that particular vehicle.
You pay a booking advance by card when you complete your reservation on our website. This amount is confirmed before you finalise the booking. The remaining balance is due when you pick up the vehicle, and the accepted payment methods for that balance are shown on the vehicle page and in your voucher.
The booking advance must be paid online by card. The remaining balance can be paid by the methods listed for your specific vehicle - this may include debit card or cash, depending on the vehicle and the local company. Check your voucher or the vehicle details page to see which options apply.
We accept major debit and credit cards for the online booking advance. For the balance at pickup, payment methods vary by vehicle and are clearly stated during booking and in your confirmation voucher. Visit our payment methods page for full details.
The local company may place a hold on a card at pickup to cover the excess in case of damage or traffic fines. This is separate from the booking advance. The hold amount and card type required depend on the specific vehicle you choose, not the class. Always check the vehicle page and your voucher for exact requirements.
Requirements vary by vehicle. Some vehicles accept a debit card, while others require a credit card for the hold placed by the local company. Check the vehicle details page when booking and refer to your voucher. If you do not have a credit card and the vehicle requires one, consider increasing the limit on your debit card or choosing a vehicle with different requirements.
The deposit is a temporary hold placed on your card by the local rental company to cover the excess amount in case of damage, loss, or traffic violations. It is not a payment. The hold is released after you return the vehicle in the same condition, typically within a few days depending on your card issuer.
Some vehicles in our fleet do not require a deposit hold at pickup. These options are clearly marked during the search and booking process. Note that even without a deposit hold, the vehicle still has an excess amount that you would be responsible for in case of damage. The two are independent parameters.
You must present a valid driving licence at pickup, along with identification. Licence requirements and minimum age vary by vehicle. International Driving Permits are not required for EU licences but may be needed for licences issued outside Europe, depending on the local company policy.
Bring your valid driving licence held for at least one year, a passport or national ID card, and the payment card used for the booking advance. The local company may request additional documents such as proof of address. Requirements are listed in your voucher.
Foreign licences are generally accepted in Hungary. EU licences are valid without additional documentation. For licences issued outside the EU, check with us before booking, as some companies may require an International Driving Permit or translated documents.
Minimum age varies by vehicle, typically ranging from 21 to 25 years. Some larger or premium vehicles may have higher age requirements. The minimum age and any young driver conditions are displayed on each vehicle page during the booking process.
Collection can take place at a desk, at the airport terminal, or via delivery to your hotel, depending on the local company and the location you select. Your voucher specifies the exact pickup instructions, address, and contact details. Return procedures are also confirmed in your voucher.
BUD is located 24 km south-east of the city centre. Pickup locations vary: some companies have desks inside the terminal, others operate from nearby offices with shuttle service. Your voucher contains precise instructions, meeting point details, and the local company contact number. Follow the signs or call the company upon arrival.
You and the representative from the local company will inspect the vehicle together before you drive away. Any existing damage, scratches, or marks are recorded in the rental agreement you sign at that time. Take photos for your own records. The same inspection occurs when you return the vehicle to confirm its condition.
Some locations offer key drop-off outside standard hours. This must be arranged in advance with the local company. Contact details are in your voucher. If out-of-hours return is not available, plan to return during the opening times stated in your booking confirmation to avoid additional charges.
Hungary uses right-hand traffic and has well-maintained roads connecting all major cities. Speed limits are 50 km/h in urban areas, 90 km/h on open roads, 110 km/h on expressways, and 130 km/h on motorways. A vignette is required for motorways M0 through M9 and expressways, available at petrol stations and borders.
Yes, you need a vignette to use motorways M0 through M9 and expressways in Hungary. Vignettes are sold at petrol stations such as MOL, OMV, and Shell, and at border crossings. Options include 10-day, monthly, or yearly validity. This is a paid extra service not included in the rental, so purchase it separately before joining a motorway.
Cross-border travel to Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, and Romania is generally permitted with advance notice to the local rental company. You must request this when booking or before pickup. Additional documentation or fees may apply. Driving to other countries may not be allowed, so confirm your travel plans with us beforehand.
From Budapest, Route 4 connects to the M0 ring motorway, which links to all major motorways. Lake Balaton is about 130 km via M7, Eger 140 km via M3, Pecs 200 km via M6, Debrecen 230 km via M3, Gyor 120 km via M1, and Szeged 170 km via M5. Hungary is a compact country, and roads are in good condition year-round, though winter snow can affect hill areas.
Plans change, and we understand that. Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the vehicle and the local company. Review the terms shown during booking and in your voucher. Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or modify your reservation.
Cancellation terms vary by vehicle and are displayed during booking and in your confirmation email. Some bookings allow free cancellation up to a certain number of hours or days before pickup, while others may incur a fee.
